Patients who desire the latter may require more filler injections. Adding volume to the malar area of the cheeks can create a more oval or “V-shape” facial appearance that appears more slender or slimmer than before.
Today’s dermal fillers produce long-lasting results. Juvederm Voluma, the first hyaluronic acid filler approved by the FDA to add volume to the cheeks, can produce results that last up to two years. Injections with Sculptra, a poly-l-lactic acid filler used to restore facial volume to various areas, can last two years or even longer.
